Nøgne Ø Imperial Stout on väriltään lähes musta, ja niukahkolta vaahdoltaan tummanruskea. Hyvin paahteisen, palaneen maltaisesta, lakritsaisesta tuoksusta voi löytää myös karviaista. Voimakkaan, paahtuneen maltainen maku on aluksi katkeran makea ja vahvan, pehmeän humaloitu, mutta päättyy tuhkaiseen, kuivan palaneeseen maltaisuuteen. Jälkimaku on pitkä, kuiva ja paahteinen. Ilman hiivaa humalointi ja alkoholi tuntuvat selvemmin, mutta hiiva pehmentää makua ja varsinkin aromia selvästi. Suutuntuma on hyvin täyteläinen, liukkaan tuhkainen ja vähähiilihappoinen. Loistava, vahva ja tasapainoinen, erittäin paahteisen maltainen olut, joka lämmittää ja täyteläisenä korvaa vaikka aterian.

"Medium brown head. Opaque black body. Milky coffee aroma with licorice notes. Dense burnt coffee taste with wild berries and caramel pudding. Milky mouthfeel. Aftertaste is milky burnt wood and coffee. Smooth and dense throughout. Pine needles. This is a great beer. Balanced, complex, and interesting. I’m impressed." "Pours a midnight black with a nice tight tan head and outstanding lace. It looks the part of a royal stout. What a neat nose, besides the standard sweet mocha and burnt malts and bitter coffee character found in most Impys, this also displays a vinous port and even a little horseblanket ester. Oh, there is some bitter hops and royal plum running about and creating an inviting aroma to say the least...hope I am not let down once it reaches the tongue. Wow , the taste seem simple at first but as you enjoy it, more and more little packets of flavor come forward to be recognized. Rich mocha, vanilla, and Hawaiian sweet bread favors at first supported quickly by a dose of bitter finely filtered espresso. What I dig about this Impy is the appearance of a nutty overtones normally found within the better porters and a noticeable molasses twang on the finish. It is almost like someone added some Baltic Porter to my Imperial Stout, oh so yummy! The mouth feel is lush and twangy with a dry vinous woody finish. it almost is TOO dry. Gosh darn, this is one interesting Imperial Stout. Werd, ratebeerians, yet another kick arse Imperial Stout, deal with it!
