Nøgne Ø India Pale Alen valmistuksessa käytetään vehnä- ja ohramaltaita (Maris Otter-, Münchener- ja karamellimaltaita). Olut humaloidaan Chinook ja Cascade humaloilla ja käytetään englantilaisella ale-hiivalla. Olut on suodattamaton ja pastöroimaton. Nøgne Ø India Pale Ale käytetään toiseen kertaan vielä pullossa.

Nøgne Ø IPA on samea, tumman oranssinruskea, ja siinä on niukahko, tiukka, vaaleanruskea vaahto. Vahva, pehmeä tuoksu on hyvin aromaattisen humaloitu, kukkainen ja hieman toffeinen - mieleen tulee Special London Ale höystettynä belgialella ja jenkki-IPA -tyylisellä humaloinnilla. Miellyttävä, hyvin monimuotoinen maku on aluksi maltainen, aromaattisen humaloitu, greippisen hedelmäinen, ja löytyypä siitä käynyttä mansikkamehuakin. Loppua kohden maku kuivuu katkeran tuhkaiseksi, antaen viimein tilaa hapahkolle hedelmäisyydelle. Suutuntuma on täyteläinen, pehmeän maltainen mutta hyvin katkera, ja jokseenkin vaahtoava.
